About the Consortium

Established as a National Science Foundation Industry/University Cooperative Research Center (I/UCRC), the CRITO Consortium conducts research vital to both industry and academia. Business and IT Executives have partnered with us since 1998, valuing our research-based insights into the issues faced by their organizations.

Internationally prominent faculty from UC Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business, School of Social Sciences and School of Information and Computer Science, adopt rigorous scientific research methods to address critical IT-related managerial challenges. Researchers have developed frameworks and concepts that have been used by many of our industry partners in a variety of applications. These include migrating to networked organizational forms, measuring the return on investment in IT, developing sourcing strategies for IT services, approaching participation in B2B marketplaces, designing technology products for the home and many more. Current members include world-class user organizations such as the Boeing Company and the Department of Defense along with pre-eminent technology companies such as Intel and IBM, and trend predictors such as IDC.
