Our student coordinator is Elsy Lao (elao@uci.edu), a fourth year Information and Computer Science undergraduate at the University of California, Irvine. She can help with travel, questions about the locale, and so forth.

Bonnie A. Nardi (nardi@uci.edu) is an anthropologist who has studied the use of advanced technologies for fifteen years. She is Associate Professor in the School of Information and Computer Science, Department of Informatics, University of California, Irvine, CA. Nardi has studied collaboration in many settings, including medical and scientific settings. She is the author of three books and numerous scientific articles. Her interests include computer-mediated communication, theory in human-computer interaction, and e-democracy.

Ann Zimmerman (asz@umich.edu) is a Research Fellow in the School of Information at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI where she is studying scientific collaboration as a member of the Science of Collaboratories project. Her dissertation investigated the sharing and reuse of ecological data. Zimmerman worked closely with ecologists during her 16-year career as a librarian, and they provided the inspiration for her doctoral research.
