Gloria Mark and Victor M. González's research project, "Increased Productivity or Burnout?," sponsored by the CRITO Consortium, was recently highlighted in The New York Times Magazine article, "Meet the Hackers," by Clive Thomas published on Sunday, October 16, 2005 (for more on this story, read CRITO's research spotlight).

Paul Gray, Visiting Professor at The Paul Merage School of Business, long-time CRITO faculty associate and Professor Emeritus of Information Science, Claremont Graduate University, was awarded first place for the 2005 Society for Information Management (SIM) Prize Paper competition for Managing Online in Perpetual Perfect Storms: Insights from IndyMac Bank (for more on this story, read CRITO's research spotlight).

CRITO Faculty Associate Professor Alfred Kobsa, of the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Science, Department of Informatics, has been awarded the coveted Alexander von Humboldt Research Award, Germany’s highest honor for senior foreign scientists and scholars (for more on this story, read CRITO's research spotlight).

In September 2005, John Mooney, Ph.D. assumed the role of “Interim Associate Dean for Academic Programs” at the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University.

Sean Xu successfully defended his doctoral dissertation "Migration to Open Standard Electronic Integration: An Economic and Cross-Generational Analysis" on September 14, 2005. His dissertation committee consisted of Professors Kevin Zhu (Chair), Ken Kraemer, and Sanjeev Dewan.

Jason Dedrick successfully defended his doctoral dissertation “Information Technology and the Organization of Economic Activities: An Empirical Study” on October 26, 2005. His dissertation committee consisted of Professors Kenneth Kraemer (Chair), Vijay Gurbaxani, and Kevin Zhu

Alladi Venkatesh is conducting a study on mobile Internet as part of an MBA research course. The project is sponsored by the User Research Group, Microsoft Corporation, Mountain View, CA.
