Jonathan Grudin works in the Adaptive Systems and Interaction
Group at Microsoft Research, part of the Microsoft Corporation. His
research is in human-computer interaction and computer supported cooperative
work, with a particular focus on the design, adoption and use of group
support technologies. Dr. Grudin is interested in the challenges in
designing and using technology to support people in group and organizational
settings. Prior to coming to Microsoft, he was Professor of Information
and Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine. For six
years he was Editor in Chief of ACM Transactions on Computer-Human
Interaction; he is now the ACM Computing Surveys Associate
Editor for Human-Computer Interaction. Dr. Grudin holds a Ph.D. in Experimental
Psychology from the University of California, San Diego.
