Howard Rosenbaum is Associate Professor in the School
of Library and Information Science at Indiana University. His research
interests include using a social informatics approach to study electronic
commerce (particularly with the problem of trust), community networking,
the history and development of the Internet and its implications for
the information professions and managers and their uses of information
in organizations. In addition to these interests, Dr. Rosenbaum is involved
with an ongoing exploration of structuration theory. He has recently
completed a book entitled "Understanding and Communicating Social
informatics: A Framework for Studying and Teaching the Human Contexts
of Information and Communication Technologies" with Steve Sawyer
and the late Rob Kling. Dr. Rosenbaum holds a Ph.D. in Information Transfer
from Syracuse University.
