Workshop Format
Invited participants
were asked to submit a paper for the workshop. From the submitted papers,
a planning committee met at ICIS to select papers to be presented at the
workshop. Other invited participants were able to submit final versions
of their papers to be included in the record of the workshop.
The papers selected for presentation were finalized and submitted to the
organizers by February 28, 2005. They were then distributed to discussants
with enough time to include their comments in the workshop proceedings.
During the workshop, the authors of the selected papers gave a presentation,
followed by comments from the discussants, and then followed by open discussion.
The purpose of the discussants was to make suggestions for improvement
to the papers with the plan of incorporating the comments and suggestions
prior to publication of the final papers. Discussants were selected from
among the invited participants.
All workshop attendees were also invited to submit testimonials regarding
their experiences with Rob, the influence of his work on them, the influence
of his work on Social Informatics or on related fields such as information
systems, sociology, information science, or computer science. These will
appear in the record of the workshop and will also be published in an
accessible medium, such as Communications of the Association for Information
Systems (CAIS).
